| Posted: 23 Mar 2011 11:30 AM PDT From time to time we like to introduce artists to our readers. Today we are proud to introduce João Unzer, a brazilian artist that started his career working with art direction over Leo Burnett, dropped everything and started painting and selling artworks on the streets of London and after that, while in London, started to work as a photographer, using some techniques he learned over Youtube.João moved from London to Lisbon and started working in an agency called Y&R (Young&Rubicam), where he showed all his talented and gained a scholarship to study in the Miami Ad School in Hamburg. He is currently doing some internships and plans to work in Germany, maybe get back to Brazil and after it try something in New York. Besides being really open to places, cultures and experiences João is very talented and has some really inspiring pieces to show, check it out. To check out more about João visit his Behance page. |

| Ball-point pen illustrations by Hakuchi Posted: 22 Mar 2011 07:52 PM PDT What it takes to be a good visual artist nowadays? Is it knowing how to draw hyperrealistic? Is it knowing how to use every image software that exists? I think isn't any of those virtues. Maybe the most important thing is to create your very own visual aesthetic, when I mean aesthetic I'm not saying style, that's not the same thing on my point of view. You can have a really particular aesthetic Influenced by many styles, but that doesn't mean it's not unique.Hakuchi is one of these illustrators that really got me, not because of his detailed trace, but because of his aesthetic. 3 colors illustrations, violent / ironic content, deep inspired in japanese and manga culture. That's how I would describe the amazing work of this illustrator. Please visit his website, is all written in japanese, but with a simple translator you can understand most of the content.
